About the client:
Our client is a well-established construction equipment rental provider across Canada. Due to company’s expansion, they are adding a Branch Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the their Calgary branch’s activities aimed to fulfill the equipment rental needs of the construction industry, as well as industrial and commercial companies.
The new hire will be an integral part in the achievement of revenue and profitability goals, growth objectives, market share penetration, operational excellence, and employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
• Oversight and accountability for the branch operations, including scheduling, maintenance, safety, timely readiness of equipment, service, and operational efficiency.
• Lead by example in all safety protocols. Ensuring the support of prescribed safety programs, including audits, safety training, OSHA compliance, and DOT regulations.
• Assist in the creation of budgets at the branch level, providing guidance and input to the VP Operations and the VP Finance.
• Partnering with the Company's finance team to evaluate and interpret results in all KPI areas and developing recommendations for corrective actions.
• Improve and optimize fleet time and dollar utilization across fleet categories.
• Improve shop and yard flow at the branch while improving the tracking of fleet in maintenance.
• Working with the Fleet Manager in purchasing new / used equipment and deciding when equipment should be sold.
• Act as the final point of escalation for customer issues, ensuring the branch maintains a reputation for reliability and elite service.
• Working with the Human Resources Manager on hiring for open roles at the branch.
• Ensure efficient delivery and pickup schedules to meet customer deadlines while optimizing transportation costs.
• Assist Sales Representatives to identify new construction projects and ensure fleet availability.
• Manage parts inventory and branch assets to prevent loss and ensure operational readiness.
• Ensuring business operations are in accordance with Company Policy and Procedures.
• Build and develop the talent of the team, including performance management, training, delegation, and accountability.
• Ensure cost effectiveness of all operations while maintaining high quality standards using process improvement tools.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in the construction equipment rental industry.
• Proven background in branch, operations, or rental management.
• Demonstrated success leading, coaching, and developing teams.
• Strong understanding of:
- Equipment rental operations
- Fleet management and utilization
- Dispatch, logistics, and service coordination
- Health & safety and regulatory compliance
• Experience managing:
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Revenue growth and cost control
- Pricing, contracts, and customer relationships
• Ability to drive sales performance and market share growth
• Strong leadership, accountability, and performance management skills
• Experience implementing operational processes and best practices
• Excellent customer service and relationship-building capabilities
• Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
• Proficiency with rental management systems and business software
• Valid driver’s license and ability to visit job sites and customers
Compensation:
• $100,000-120,000 base salary
