About our client:


Our client is an established elevator consulting services organization. We are looking for a Project Manager to join their highly motivated team. Our client’s culture is all about delivering the best possible solutions to clients while at the same time fostering a vibrant and fun work environment. We are looking for an engineer with related project management experience from the elevator industry, general contracting or consulting engineering. This is an in office position in downtown Vancouver with the ability to work from home on a hybrid basis in the future. 



Responsibilities:


  • Daily project management of various simultaneous projects
  • Lead meetings with clients, architects and construction teams
  • Communicate with architects and developers to ensure the design conforms to building usage and requirements
  • Coordinate meetings with the internal design and project management teams
  • Oversee projects through supervision of team members, ensuring deliverables are met
  • Determine project schedules by studying project plans and specifications, calculating time requirements, sequencing project elements
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving issues
  • Review architectural drawings for equipment configurations, and code compliance as it relates to vertical transportation
  • Field review/site inspections of elevator and escalator equipment
  • Review of design, traffic calculations, and specifications prepared by the internal Design Team
  • Bid review, contract review and preparation, bid negotiation
  • Business development
  • Some travel to project locations across Greater Vancouver and BC is required

 


Qualifications:


  • Engineering degree
  • P. Eng. designation or working towards the designation
  • 5-10 years of project management or project coordination experience in the elevator industry, general contracting or engineering consulting
  • High attention to detail, prioritization, and organization
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset
  • Knowledge of elevator and escalator installation, maintenance, and upgrade is an asset
  • CAD/Drawing experience is ideal
  • Able to work independently and part of a team
  • Client focused
  • Knowledge of electronics and mechanical equipment
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle to visit sites (mileage is reimbursed) 


Compensation for the position is a salary in the $120-140k range, as well as a discretionary bonus, medical/dental, 3-4 weeks’ vacation, health care spending, and every other Friday off.
