Our client is seeking an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with experience in civil and municipal consulting services. This individual will assist in developing civil engineering solutions for multiple sectors, including development and municipal clients. We welcome out-of-town applicants who are keen to relocate to Vancouver Island. This is an in-office role and remote work is unfortunately not possible.


EITs with related experience in civil engineering are encouraged to apply. We are open to EITs with varying levels of experience, from 1 to 7 years, and salary will commensurate with experience.


The work location of this opportunity is Campbell River, BC (with relocation assistance provided - if applicable).


 

Responsibilities:


Design & Engineering Development

  • Prepare detailed designs for stormwater, sanitary sewer, and water distribution systems, including plans, profiles, and supporting technical details
  • Develop roadway designs with alignments, cross-sections, and typical sections


Drafting & Costing

  • Produce high-quality engineering drawings to support subdivision and building permit applications
  • Complete quantity take-offs and assist in preparing project cost estimates


Quality Control & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate project documentation and perform quality checks in accordance with company standards and professional practice requirements


Field Services & Inspection

  • Assist with or perform surveying tasks as required
  • Conduct site visits during construction to verify compliance with design drawings and specifications



Coordination & Communication

  • Collaborate with internal teams and coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Support utility coordination and contribute to overall project planning

Qualifications


  • Minimum 1-4 years of experience in civil engineering design and drafting (or equivalent experience for Engineers-in-Training)
  • AScT, CET, or EIT designation (or eligibility)
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license
