About the Role:
We are seeking a hands-on HR Manager to join a growing, multi-location organization supporting both office and skilled technical employees. This is a dynamic role with responsibility for human resources, health and safety, and administrative operations, working closely with leadership to ensure compliance, efficiency, and a positive workplace culture.
What You’ll Do
- Lead all human resources activities, including onboarding, terminations, employee records, benefits administration, and policy management
- Ensure compliance with the Employment Standards Act (BC and Canada), Workers’ Compensation Board requirements, and all applicable employment legislation
- Coordinate health and safety programs across all locations, including inspections, training, certifications, monthly meetings, and WCB compliance
- Monitor WCB claims and manage return-to-work programs
- Prepare and maintain employee files, ensuring all legal and regulatory employment requirements are met
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook
- Support payroll administration and benefits tracking
- Serve as the primary HR contact for employees, fostering engagement and a positive, compliant work environment
- Continuously monitor legislative and industry changes and recommend updates to ensure ongoing compliance
- Improve HR administrative systems, reporting, and workflows
- Proactively identify HR and operational needs, anticipate issues, and recommend practical solutions
- Travel to multiple Lower Mainland locations to support and engage with staff
Who You Are
- Experienced supporting employees in skilled trades, technical, or hands-on operational roles
- Knowledgeable in British Columbia and Canadian employment legislation, the Employment Standards Act, and Workers’ Compensation Board compliance
- Highly organized, proactive, and accountable, with a talent for identifying needs and addressing them before they become issues
- Post secondary education in a business-related field, ideally Human Resources
- ADP or other payroll system – onboarding employees, benefits enrollment, time-off policies, and vacation accrual
- Outgoing, approachable, and able to build strong relationships across all levels of staff
- Comfortable working 100% in-office and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now or similar HR and payroll systems is an asset
