About Our Client:

Our client is dedicated to manufacturing top-of-the-line agricultural equipment used in various locations around the globe. As a rapidly growing company based in Mission, BC, they pride themselves on their commitment to quality and innovation.

They are looking to add a Senior Mechanical Designer/Engineer to the team whose focus will be on new product development. This individual will be responsible for design and development of innovative new products.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of innovative new products.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skill to identify and solve design issues, ensuring optimal functionality and performance of products.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams during product development and ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality.
  • Conducting thorough research and analysis to evaluate feasibility, performance, and cost-effectiveness of design concepts.
  • Creating detailed design documentation, including technical specifications, drawings, and test plans, to facilitate smooth implementation in production.
  • Configure products for sales orders and produce associated drawings and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
  • Review engineering changes and process through proper change management (ECR’s, ECO’s, ECN’s)
  • Understand and support in the development of company design standards and procedures.
  • Peer review models, drawings and BOMs.
  • Provide technical advice and guide to junior engineers.
  • Continuous learning and keeping up-to-date with industry trends and technological advancements to contribute towards enhancing design practices and processes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; or mechanical technologist diploma.
  • New product development experience in heavy industry is required.
  • Registered as a P.Eng or ASCT is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering design and development of complex products
  • Proficient with 3D CAD systems, preferably with Autodesk Programs including Inventor and Vault.
  • Good problem-solving abilities as well as a good three-dimensional conceptual ability.
  • Effective communicator throughout multiple levels of an organization (Customers, Sales, Purchasing).
  • Experienced with presenting designs to stakeholders.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, etc.)
  • Understand and use of GD&T standards and weld specifications.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
