ABOUT THE CLIENT:


Our client is a well-established construction equipment rental provider across Canada. Due to company’s expansion, they are adding an IT Coordinator who will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of IT operations, ensuring all hardware, software, and network systems are functioning optimally to support the business in Western Canada.


This role serves as the primary technical point of contact across departments and reports directly to the IT Manager, who is based in Eastern Canada. Working closely with Operations and Branch leadership, the IT Coordinator ensures that the company’s technology infrastructure supports growth, security, and seamless communication across all locations.


Please note: this role can be based in either Calgary or Edmonton, AB and is in-office.


RESPONSIBILTIES:


Systems Coordination & Service Management

  • Coordinate the deployment and maintenance of company-wide hardware, including laptops, mobile devices, and office networking gear.
  • Evaluate and recommend software solutions and hardware upgrades based on security standards, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all technical assets and user licenses.
  • Establish lifecycle guidelines for hardware replacement to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Source new equipment and manage the disposal and refurbishment of hardware in the West.


Technical Support & Performance

  • Act as the escalation point for technical issues, aligning support priorities with business-critical needs.
  • Monitor system health and technical issues to inform future infrastructure decisions.
  • Ensure accurate data entry within the company’s ERP and internal IT management systems.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support all departments with technical onboarding for new hires and new software rollouts.
  • Coordinate internal training sessions regarding cybersecurity best practices and operational software use.
  • Provide remote and on-site guidance to Branch Managers to ensure consistent IT standards across all locations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in IT coordination, technical support, or systems administration.
  • Experience in a multi-location industrial or rental environment is considered an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows/Azure environments, ERP systems, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Ability to travel to various branches as needed to support local infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical staff.
  • A practical, solutions-oriented mindset with strong analytical judgment.
  • Comfortable managing data within ERP systems and using reporting tools for decision making.
  • Highly organized and collaborative, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 

COMPENSATION:


  • $55,000-60,000 annual base salary (negotiable)
  • 10-15% bonus
  • 3 weeks of paid time off
