Our client is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to join a growing Traffic Design team. This role is responsible for delivering engineering expertise related to traffic design and traffic management, while also fulfilling professional regulatory responsibilities across Canadian jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the Traffic Design team.
- Review, approve, and seal Traffic Accommodation/Control Plans and Traffic Accommodation Strategies.
- Prepare and/or review traffic management strategies to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Manage complex traffic engineering projects from planning through execution.
- Act as the designated Responsible Member for provincial engineering regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and oversee the organization’s Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP).
- Ensure professional licensing remains valid and in good standing.
- Mentor and support traffic design technicians and Engineers-in-Training pursuing professional designation.
- Identify and develop new service opportunities, including traffic impact assessments, detour planning, intersection improvements, pedestrian safety enhancements, and parking facility design.
- Coordinate closely with design staff to ensure timely updates to drawings and deliverables.
- Ensure engineering approvals are completed within required timelines.
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients on large-scale traffic projects.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the design team.
- Assist in resolving technical challenges, project issues, and stakeholder concerns.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Transportation or Traffic Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in a Canadian province, with eligibility for registration in additional provinces.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in transportation or traffic engineering within Canada.
- Experience working with provincial transportation agencies is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and standard engineering software.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
