About Our Client:

Our client's company was founded in 2003. The company provides the installation and service of video cameras, card access, intrusion alarms, fire alarm monitoring, and intercom systems in the commercial market. They expanded their operations into Alberta in 2016 and have been operating out of their Airdrie AB office since 2017. Their headquarters is in BC.

They are seeking a motivated and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to join their dynamic sales team and drive revenue growth in the southern Alberta market.

 

Position Overview: 

The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and maintaining relationships with existing clients. This role requires a proactive approach to prospecting, developing customized sales strategies, and closing deals to meet and exceed sales targets.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify and target potential clients through various methods including cold calling, networking, and attending industry events.
  • Champion the company culture and maintain excellent communications with other staff including technicians and service department
  • Client Meetings: Schedule and conduct face-to-face meetings with prospective and existing clients to understand their needs and present tailored security solutions.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing excellent customer service and addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve territory goals and contribute to the overall success of the AB office.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to effectively position our products and services.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline status using CRM software/tools. We use a software called Field Edge to quote, manage, and invoice projects
  • Quoting projects: After consulting with a customer onsite, it will be up to the salesperson to quote the work proposed during the onsite meeting. The company has several resources and teams available to assist with quoting projects.
  • Job management: For smaller projects (less than a week of work for a technician), it will be up to the salesperson to manage the scheduling of the project. For jobs over a weeklong, the project will be managed with the help of a project manager
  • Invoicing: At the end of projects, the salesperson will be responsible for sending the final invoices for the work performed


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience in outside sales or a related trade, preferably in electrical or IT infrastructure - ideally access control, intercom, alarm systems and camera experience in the electronics industry
  • Skills: Strong sales and negotiation skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a customer-focused approach. Excellent leadership experience.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred, but not always required
  • Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft office and Google docs, and the ability to use technology to enhance sales efforts. A basic understanding of electrical and IT infrastructure is also desired
  • Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, as travel within the assigned territory is required
