About Our Client:
Our client has a long history of manufacturing success and ingenuity and employs many individuals with long tenures with the organization.
We are looking to hire an Applications Sales Engineer for our client. This person will work closely with the sales team to convert new customers to the company’s hardware systems. This role requires a hands-on, solution-oriented approach to ensure optimal fit, form, and function of hardware.
This is an in-office position connected to the client’s manufacturing plant in Mississauga, ON. However, 50% travel is required, with the majority of it in the GTA area (once the candidate is up to speed on the products and customers).
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the sales team to drive customer adoption of hardware systems
- Create application drawings based on customer fabrication drawings using AutoCAD
- Travel throughout Canada and occasionally to the USA to work directly with customers
- Attend onboarding sessions and periodic product training in the USA manufacturing location
- Provide technical support and solutions to meet customer requirements
- Manage deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment
- Interface with the company’s CRM sales funnel, SAP ERP system, and MS Office Suite
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as an Application Sales Engineer or equivalent, in the window and door industry or a building products equivalent
- B.S. degree in Engineering or a diploma in mechanical engineering is preferred, but not required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and technical drawing creation
- Strong problem-solving skills and customer-focused mindset
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced, growing environment
- Able and willing to travel, as needed
