About Our Client:

Our client is a leading secondary wood manufacturer located in the scenic Okanagan region of British Columbia. This company is recognized for its commitment to operational excellence, environmental responsibility, and employee development. Specializing in engineered structural and non-structural wood products—including posts, beams, siding, fascia, and trim—the company continues to invest in state-of-the-art equipment and its people.

They are currently seeking a Technical Training Supervisor with deep expertise in moulders, grinders, and related wood-processing equipment. In this role, you will be instrumental in training operators, ensuring best practices are followed, and fostering a safe, efficient, and high-performance work environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver hands-on technical training to equipment operators, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to machinery operation and tool maintenance.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and mill leadership to identify training needs and gaps.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to new and experienced operators alike.


Qualifications:

  • Lead by example, listen actively, coach with empathy, and influence with integrity.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with professional moulders, including equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and tool grinding.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively across teams.
  • Flexibility to work one of two shift options (Monday–Thursday):
  • Day Shift: 4:30 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM – 2:00 AM
