The Sales Leader / Sales Department Manager will lead, coach, and grow a team of B2B sales professionals selling payroll, HR, and timekeeping solutions to businesses. This is a very hands on leadership role for someone who is comfortable managing both people and process, setting clear expectations, building a repeatable sales system, and personally engaging with high value prospects to model success.

You will own team performance, pipeline quality, and forecasting accuracy while promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth. The ideal candidate is data driven, process oriented, and an excellent coach who enjoys listening to calls, going into the field with reps, and helping them sharpen their skills while consistently hitting revenue targets.


Key Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, and motivate a high performing B2B sales team

Recruit, onboard, and develop new sales reps while elevating existing talent

Actively monitor and coach reps while prospecting, making cold calls, and going into the field to knock on doors with them

Run weekly one on ones and team meetings to review performance, set priorities, and remove obstacles

Develop and implement a clear sales strategy aligned with company goals

Own the sales process and ensure all leads, activities, and deals are accurately tracked in the CRM

Track key metrics such as calls, appointments, proposals, and deals closed and address performance gaps early

Partner with Marketing, Operations, and Client Success to maximize lead conversion and improve handoffs

Maintain accurate forecasts and pipeline reports and ensure weekly, monthly, and quarterly targets are consistently met

Represent the company with professionalism and a solutions focused, consultative approach


Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience managing B2B sales teams required

Experience selling payroll, HRIS, HCM, or related B2B services strongly preferred

Proven track record carrying quotas, building pipelines, and consistently closing deals

Strong coaching and people development skills with a hands on leadership style

Process oriented and data driven, comfortable working in a CRM such as Salesforce or Pipedrive

Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

High integrity, emotional intelligence, and professional presence with clients and team members

Ability to work full time on site in Brooklyn and occasionally in the field with reps

Type: Full time

Salary: $150,000–$225,000/year (base + commissions)
