A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Chief of Clinical Services to serve as its senior clinical leader and oversee the strategy, development, and advancement of clinical services across the organization. This executive level role will provide leadership to the clinical division while ensuring a coordinated, person centered, and outcomes driven approach to service delivery.
The ideal candidate is a licensed clinician with extensive OPWDD experience and a strong background in population health management, risk stratification, clinical quality improvement, incident management, regulatory compliance, and healthcare operations. This individual will oversee clinical leadership and serve as a key clinical resource for complex medical, behavioral, and care management matters.
The Chief of Clinical Services will also represent the organization with government agencies, managed care organizations, healthcare systems, and community partners while working closely with executive leadership to drive clinical excellence and support the organization's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide executive leadership and oversight of clinical services and clinical leadership teams
• Develop and implement clinical strategies, protocols, and best practices to improve outcomes
• Lead population health initiatives and risk stratification efforts to identify and support high risk individuals
• Monitor clinical trends, outcomes, and performance metrics to drive quality improvement
• Provide executive oversight of incident management, trend analysis, root cause reviews, and corrective action planning
• Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations, Health Home requirements, Medicaid guidelines, and other applicable standards
• Serve as a clinical resource for complex medical, behavioral, and care management situations
• Build and maintain relationships with OPWDD, government agencies, healthcare systems, providers, and community partners
• Represent the organization during audits, regulatory reviews, and external meetings
• Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning, program development, workforce initiatives, and organizational growth
• Promote accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and clinical excellence across the organization
Qualifications:
• Active New York State clinical license required, such as RN, LCSW, LMHC, Psychologist, NP, or equivalent
• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience overseeing clinical teams and services required
• Extensive OPWDD experience required
• Experience within Health Home, Managed Care, or related healthcare settings
• Strong knowledge of person centered practices, population health management, and care coordination
• Experience with clinical risk management, incident review, and quality improvement
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and healthcare operations
• Ability to analyze clinical and operational data and use findings to improve outcomes
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship building skills
• Experience working directly with regulatory and government agencies preferred
• Master's degree in a clinical or healthcare related field preferred
• Strong ability to lead multiple service focused departments and manage competing priorities
