An established manufacturing company is seeking a confident, experienced Shipping Supervisor to oversee its second-shift shipping operations.

This position requires a strong, hands-on leader who can independently manage employees, maintain accountability, resolve operational challenges, and ensure work continues efficiently throughout the evening.

With less direct management oversight during later hours, the ideal candidate must be comfortable making decisions, motivating employees, and taking ownership of department performance.

The company prioritizes leadership ability, sound judgment, and management potential over previous shipping experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated supervisor looking to grow into a higher-level management role.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead employees during second-shift shipping operations.
• Oversee daily workflow to ensure productivity, efficiency, and timely completion of work.
• Maintain strong employee accountability, attendance, and performance standards.
• Make independent decisions and resolve operational challenges with minimal supervision.
• Assign responsibilities and ensure employees remain focused on department priorities.
• Monitor productivity and identify opportunities for operational improvements.
• Communicate effectively with employees, management, and other departments.
• Address employee concerns and performance issues professionally.
• Ensure established workplace procedures and safety standards are followed.
• Support employee training, development, and team performance.
• Maintain smooth operations and consistent workflow throughout the evening.
• Demonstrate the leadership skills and initiative needed for future advancement into management.

Qualifications

• Strong supervisory or team leadership experience required.
• Proven ability to lead employees independently and maintain accountability.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and people-management skills.
• Confidence in making decisions and resolving workplace challenges.
• Ability to manage operations effectively with limited management oversight.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
• Hands-on leadership style with a focus on productivity and results.

• Strong potential and ambition to grow into a management position.
• Manufacturing, warehouse, or shipping experience is a plus, but shipping experience is not required.
• Availability to work the required second-shift schedule.
