Underwriter Team Lead

The Monsey office consists of a busy team of sales professionals who rely on underwriting support to shop quotes, prepare submissions, and communicate with brokers and clients. This role requires someone intelligent, process driven, and detail oriented who can manage multiple accounts and ensure strong communication on every file.

You will support both brokers and direct clients, gathering needed information, comparing coverage options, and preparing organized submissions across multiple markets. This position requires quick learning, proactive follow up, and the ability to maintain professionalism across all interactions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Shop new and renewal quotes across 5–6 insurance carriers (email, phone, software)
  • Review broker submissions and gather missing information
  • Communicate effectively with brokers to ensure clarity and efficiency
  • Work directly with clients when needed for renewals or new leads
  • Prepare organized market comparisons and coverage summaries
  • Provide underwriting support to the sales team and help manage workflow
  • Delegate appropriate tasks to administrative staff
  • Maintain accuracy, follow up, and detailed records


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of professional office experience required
  • Property and casualty underwriting experience strongly preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage many moving parts
  • Detail oriented and able to learn complex processes quickly
  • Ability to work well with brokers, clients, and internal team members
  • Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills

Type: Full time

Salary: $80,000–$130,000/year
