This role will turn large and sometimes complex data sets into accurate, understandable insights that leadership can use to improve operations, control costs, and measure performance.
The Logistics Data Analyst will support P&L visibility, KPI tracking, dashboards, operational scorecards, project analysis, and one time reporting needs. The ideal candidate is highly analytical but also understands the business side of data. This person should be able to take a complex operational question, determine what information is needed, analyze the numbers, and clearly explain what the data means and what action should be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
• Produce accurate and timely analysis to support logistics and leadership decisions
• Translate operational questions into data analysis, findings, and actionable recommendations
• Analyze shipment volume, costs, service levels, billing trends, and operational performance
• Support Logistics P&L reporting and identify cost drivers, variances, cost leakage, and savings opportunities
• Build, maintain, and improve KPI dashboards, operational reports, and department scorecards
• Define and document KPI calculations, data sources, assumptions, and reporting logic
• Handle recurring reporting as well as urgent one time analysis requests
• Analyze logistics projects and process improvement opportunities using actual performance data
• Conduct root cause analysis on cost increases, service failures, and operational performance issues
• Establish baseline measurements and track results after new processes or projects are implemented
• Build ROI and impact models to evaluate potential initiatives
• Investigate data discrepancies across systems and resolve or escalate data quality issues
• Maintain accurate and reliable logistics reporting
• Work with Logistics, Warehouse, Finance, Technology, and other departments to understand data needs
• Present complex findings in clear business language for both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience working with operational, financial, logistics, or other business data
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets
• Experience with BI, dashboarding, or reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, or similar platforms
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to identify trends, discrepancies, and root causes within complex data
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to clearly explain data, calculations, and findings in practical business terms
• Experience investigating discrepancies across multiple data sources or systems
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage recurring reports, urgent requests, and project based analysis
• Experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, warehouse operations, or manufacturing is strongly preferred
• Familiarity with TMS, WMS, ERP, shipping, routing, carrier, billing, or order management data is a plus
• SQL or database query experience is preferred
