We are seeking a responsible, detail-oriented Senior Healthcare Accountant to oversee the preparation of financial statements and support financial audits within a nursing home financial services environment. This role is responsible for managing core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, and cash management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, can work independently, exercises sound judgment, and effectively supervises accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Support internal and external audits
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Perform account reconciliations and oversee cash management
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records
- Supervise, train, and manage accounting staff
- Utilize accounting software and Excel to generate reports and analyze data
- Communicate financial insights clearly to management
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Previous experience as an accountant, controller, or in a similar role, preferably in a nursing home financial services environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of accounting software programs
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIF formulas, and pivot tables
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Strong math and accounting skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
