Business Development Representative (BDR)

About the Role

Dataco is expanding its sales team and hiring Business Development Representatives (BDRs) to help drive top-of-funnel growth. As a BDR, you'll play a critical role in identifying and engaging potential clients who can benefit from our data consulting services and digital transformation expertise. This is a contract-to-hire role, beginning with a 3-month contract period. Pending strong performance and mutual fit, the position is expected to convert to full-time.


This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who is eager to learn, confident reaching out to new people, and excited to contribute to a growing team. You’ll work closely with our Managing Partner and sales leadership to build a pipeline, test outbound strategies, and introduce our full suite of innovative data solutions to prospective clients.


What You’ll Do

  • Research and identify ideal customer profiles across industries such as tech, finance, health, retail, and more
  • Initiate outbound outreach campaigns through email, phone, and LinkedIn to generate qualified leads
  • Clearly communicate the value of Dataco’s services, including modern data stack implementation, embedded analytics, business process automation, and Looker consulting
  • Qualify leads and set up discovery calls for senior sales team members
  • Collaborate with leadership to refine messaging and outbound strategies based on feedback and results
  • Keep CRM and sales tools up to date with accurate notes, activity tracking, and pipeline data
  • Stay informed about data trends, consulting best practices, and new technologies that impact our clients


What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in sales, lead generation, or client-facing roles (ideally managed services or consulting)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable initiating conversations and developing relationships with potential customers
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to grow in a fast-paced environment
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple outreach campaigns at once
  • Familiarity with sales tools and CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) is a plus
  • Interest in modern data technologies and a desire to learn more about digital transformation solutions
