Cybersecurity Analyst/Engineer

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen both internal and client-facing security environments. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity solutions while helping organizations achieve compliance with industry frameworks including CMMC, NIST 800-171, and CIS Controls. The ideal candidate combines strong technical security expertise with compliance knowledge and enjoys working across multiple client environments to reduce risk, improve security maturity, and support regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Do

Security Engineering & Operations

  • Design, deploy, and maintain cybersecurity solutions including EDR, SIEM, MFA, email security, vulnerability management, patch management, firewalls, and endpoint protection
  • Lead threat detection, incident response, investigation, and remediation efforts
  • Perform security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing
  • Develop and maintain secure configurations and security baselines across servers, endpoints, cloud platforms, and network infrastructure

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Lead technical compliance initiatives for CMMC, NIST 800-171, CIS Controls, and other security frameworks
  • Develop and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, audit evidence, and compliance documentation
  • Conduct security audits, risk assessments, and compliance readiness reviews
  • Support clients in achieving and maintaining cybersecurity compliance

Automation & Security Tools

  • Implement automation across security monitoring and compliance platforms
  • Manage integrations between cybersecurity solutions and MSP toolsets
  • Develop dashboards, reporting, and security metrics to measure compliance and operational effectiveness
  • Utilize PowerShell or similar scripting tools to automate security and administrative tasks

Collaboration & Client Support

  • Partner with engineering and service teams to embed cybersecurity best practices into projects and managed services
  • Mentor technicians and engineers on security processes and standards
  • Participate in client security reviews, executive meetings, and cybersecurity planning sessions
  • Educate clients on security best practices and risk mitigation strategies


Required Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of cybersecurity, systems engineering, or infrastructure experience
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • CMMC
  • NIST SP 800-171
  • CIS Controls
  • EDR
  • SIEM
  • Email Security
  • DLP
  • IDS/IPS
  • MFA
  • Vulnerability Management
  • Experience producing compliance documentation, audit evidence, and risk assessments
  • Knowledge of PowerShell or other scripting languages for automation
  • Strong communication, documentation, and client-facing skills


Preferred

  • MSP or multi-tenant environment experience
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Defender, Azure, Intune, and Microsoft security technologies
  • Certifications such as:
  • CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or CASP+
  • CISSP
  • CEH
