Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Onsite (5 days/week)

Salary: $100,000 – $150,000+

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Experience Required: MSP Experience

Position Overview

The Strategic Technology Advisor (STA) serves as a trusted partner to clients, aligning technology with business goals through strategic planning and ongoing guidance.

This role sits at the intersection of business strategy and technology, focusing on building long-term client relationships, understanding environments, and delivering value through Technology Business Reviews (TBRs). You will help clients improve efficiency, strengthen security, reduce risk, and drive growth through informed technology decisions.


What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships as a trusted advisor
  • Lead regular Technology Business Reviews (TBRs), aligning IT strategy with business objectives
  • Develop a deep understanding of each client’s:
  • Business goals
  • Technical environment
  • Risks and challenges
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on industry trends and client needs
  • Use reporting and trend analysis to deliver data-driven insights and improvements
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams to support project planning and execution
  • Provide feedback to leadership on client needs, service gaps, and improvement opportunities
  • Support account forecasting (risk, profitability, growth opportunities)
  • Assist clients with IT budgeting, financial planning, and cost analysis
  • Maintain high client satisfaction and renewal rates
  • Continue developing technical knowledge through training, certifications, and industry learning


What You Bring

Experience

  • 5+ years in a client-facing role such as:
  • Technical Advisor
  • IT Manager / Director
  • Customer Success or Strategic IT role
  • MSP experience required


Technical Knowledge

Strong understanding of both cloud and on-prem environments, including:

  • Enterprise infrastructure
  • End-user devices
  • Virtualization
  • Networking and wireless
  • Backup & disaster recovery
  • Cybersecurity


Business & Strategy Skills

  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and risk management
  • Ability to analyze problems and provide strategic recommendations
  • Comfortable working with both technical and business stakeholders


Core Skills

  • Strong presentation skills (small and large audiences)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and client-facing communication
  • Ability to build relationships with senior-level executives
  • Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, and influencing decisions
  • Strong leadership presence and advisory mindset
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new technologies
