Senior Systems Engineer – MSP Projects

Logistics: Hybrid - 3 days a week at client site

Salary: $90k–$125k

Locations: Concord, CA

We’re partnered with a mature Managed Services Provider looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to lead and execute complex infrastructure and cloud projects across multiple client environments. This is a project-heavy role, not a ticket grinder. You’ll own design, migration, upgrade, and modernization work end-to-end.

Project Work You’ll Lead

You’ll be hands-on with projects such as:

• On-prem Exchange → Office 365 migrations
• OneDrive & SharePoint migrations
• Firewall replacements (SonicWall → Meraki)
• Server migrations from on-prem ESXi to Azure
• Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) design & deployment
• Network upgrades (SonicWall, Meraki)
• Intune MDM policy creation & device enrollment
• ESXi host upgrades and VM migrations

Core Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain client infrastructure solutions
• Lead multiple projects across varied client environments
• Independently design and implement networks and systems
• Build, rebuild, and configure servers, storage, and virtual environments
• Implement VMware and Hyper-V infrastructures
• Configure Microsoft environments including:
• Windows Server & Terminal Server farms
• Active Directory, GPOs, application deployments
• Exchange, SQL Server, Office 365, Azure
• Deploy and support backup and security platforms:
• Datto, ShadowProtect, StorageCraft, Veeam, ESET
• Configure and troubleshoot firewalls and networking:
• Site-to-site VPNs, HA, QoS, routing, security services
• SonicWall and/or Meraki (preferred)
• Cisco routing/switching, UniFi wireless

What We’re Looking For

• 6–7+ years of hands-on Systems Engineer experience
• Strong background in MSP or consulting environments
• Proven ability to design, deploy, and support infrastructure independently
• Comfortable managing multiple projects at once
• Strong technical documentation habits
• Confident working onsite and directly with clients

Preferred Tools & Certs (not required):

• ConnectWise, IT Glue
• A+, Network+, MCSE, VCP, CCNA, Azure, Office 365
