Are you an experienced Maintenance Supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment and takes pride in keeping operations running safely and efficiently? We’re seeking a hands-on maintenance leader to oversee the maintenance team at a modern sawmill and wood products facility.
In this key leadership role, you’ll manage a team of Millwrights, Electricians, and Maintenance Technicians to ensure optimal equipment reliability and production uptime. You’ll coordinate preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement projects while supporting a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
🔹 What You’ll Do
- Lead and mentor the maintenance team to achieve safety, quality, and production goals.
- Oversee maintenance of sawmill systems, including sawlines, conveyors, kilns, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and automation issues in real time.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and reliability teams on capital projects and upgrades.
- Manage work orders, PM schedules, and parts inventory using a CMMS system.
- Drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with all health & safety standards.
🔹 What We’re Looking For

5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance leadership — ideally in a sawmill, wood products, biomass, or heavy manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to lead skilled trades teams in a unionized or non-unionized plant.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and reliability initiatives.
- Trade certification such as Red Seal Industrial Millwright, Industrial Electrician, or Power Engineer (3rd or 4th Class) preferred.
- Working knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and CMMS systems is an asset.
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills with a focus on results and collaboration.
