We are seeking a Forestry Analyst to join a leading forestry organization managing millions of hectares of forest across Eastern Canada and the Northeastern United States. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to advanced forest planning initiatives using cutting-edge tools, data analytics, and emerging technologies.


What You’ll Do


  • Develop and manage strategic and tactical forest planning models to support sustainable resource management
  • Support the development of long-term forest management plans and planning initiatives
  • Analyze forest data, including growth and yield modeling and forest carbon metrics
  • Contribute to divisional reporting and help automate workflows to improve efficiency
  • Develop and maintain enterprise-level forest inventory databases and associated systems
  • Support the integration of new technologies and digital tools into forest planning processes


What We’re Looking For


Core Qualifications:


  • Degree or diploma in Forestry, or equivalent professional experience as a Forest Resource Analyst
  • Experience with forest planning tools, including Remsoft Woodstock Optimization Studio
  • Strong knowledge of forest inventory systems and planning models (strategic, tactical, operational)
  • Proficiency with GIS tools, including Esri ArcGIS (Online and Pro)
  • Experience with data tools and programming (e.g., SQL, Python, FME, or similar)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to automate processes
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to learn new technologies


Assets:


  • Experience with predictive modeling, machine learning, or AI applications
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI
  • Additional programming or scripting experience
  • Master’s degree in a related field
