Project Manager / Estimator

Location: Elk River, MN

Compensation: $100,000 to $150,000 base salary, plus high bonus potential

We are a well-established heavy civil construction company operating throughout the Midwestern United States. Our focus includes Earthwork, Demolition, Utilities, and Specialty Contracting for both public and private sectors.

We’re currently seeking a Project Manager / Estimator to join our growing team. This is a full-time, high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering successful, profitable projects.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all phases of heavy civil construction projects from pre-construction through closeout
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and project proposals for public and private sector bids
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to determine project scope and cost
• Collaborate with field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution
• Track project budgets, schedules, and progress, ensuring projects remain on time and within budget
• Conduct site visits to assess project needs and progress
• Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, including estimating and project management
• Proven experience in Earthwork, Demolition, Utilities, or similar scopes of work
• Strong understanding of construction documents, specifications, and project sequencing
• Proficiency with estimating and project management software
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
