Job Description: Account Manager – International Freight Forwarder

Location: Fayetteville, GA

Industry: Logistics & Supply Chain (3PL)


Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our team in Fayetteville, GA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management systems (WMS) within a 3PL environment and a proven track record in managing client accounts in the freight forwarding industry. This role requires a blend of operational expertise, strategic account management skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Account Management:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring satisfaction and effective communication.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and aligning services accordingly.
  • Monitor account performance, identifying opportunities to optimize service offerings and drive growth.
  • Operational Oversight:
  • Utilize and manage Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to ensure seamless inventory control, order processing, and logistics operations.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and transportation teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Address operational issues and troubleshoot WMS-related challenges to improve efficiency.
  • Strategic Growth:
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within client accounts to expand service portfolios.
  • Work closely with the sales and operations teams to onboard new clients effectively.
  • Analyze account data to develop insights and strategies for improved client engagement and profitability.
  • Compliance & Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with international and domestic freight regulations.
  • Prepare detailed reports on account performance, KPIs, and operational metrics.
  • Support audits and maintain accurate documentation for client accounts.


Qualifications:


Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in account management within the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
  • Extensive experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) in a 3PL environment is required.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of freight forwarding operations, including air, ocean, and ground logistics.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks effectively.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Familiarity with customs regulations and international trade compliance is a plus.
