You're not looking. Read it anyway — it'll take ninety seconds.
The best FX salespeople are never on the market. So instead of trying to sell you something, here are the questions you'd actually ask me if we were having a coffee, answered in the order you'd ask them.
"Who is it?"
Can't name them in an ad. What I can say: international, around 2,000 people, 40 locations, investment-grade rated, with a genuine tech team rather than a vendor and a slide deck.
You already know the name. You've probably lost something to them.
"What's the actual job?"
New business. Medium to large corporates.
Designing hedging structures around real market risk — not pushing spot and hoping volume covers it. You'll be giving clients market colour they can use, and building solutions they'd struggle to get elsewhere.
There are existing relationships to hold. But the reason this seat exists is growth.
"What's actually different about it?"
The investment-grade rating and the balance sheet.
In this market that isn't a credential, it's a gate. It decides which conversations you're allowed to be in and which structures you can put on the table. Plenty of good salespeople are stuck losing to it rather than selling with it.
"Is the team any good?"
Low attrition, which is the only culture statistic that means anything. Everything else is a poster.
People arrive and they stay. Draw your own conclusion about what that says.
"Why would I move?"
There are only two honest reasons a good FX BDM ever moves: a better product to sell, or more room to run.
This is both, which is rarer than it sounds.
"What do you need from me?"
"And the money?"
Competitive base and a bonus structure that pays for what you actually bring.
If you want the numbers, ask me. I'll give you the range before you decide whether it's worth a conversation — not after.
"What happens if I reply?"
A confidential conversation and nothing else. Nothing moves, nothing is sent, no one is told, unless you say so.
That is the entire risk of replying to this.
