🎯 Nobody grows up wanting to do this job. Read it anyway.

----

πŸ“ Where you start

The first six months, you're on the phone. A lot.

Calling business owners and finance people who did not ask to hear from you. Some are lovely. Most aren't rude, they're just busy. A few will be short with you.

That's the job. I'm not going to dress it up.

πŸ—ΊοΈ Where it goes β€” this is the bit worth reading

  • 0–6 months β€” you learn the craft. Build your outreach engine. Generate real pipeline.
  • 6–12 months β€” Senior. Bigger conversations, you own more of the deal.
  • 12–18 months β€” BDM. Your own clients. Your own number.

That's not "great progression opportunities." Those are months, with actual things attached to them.

Ask the last three companies you applied to for theirs and watch what happens.

πŸ’° And the money, since everyone scrolls looking for it

$80–85k base + super, with $100k+ on target.

If you're six months into a phone job on a low base, go and compare that to what you're on now. Then look at the three lines above it again.

πŸ§‘β€πŸ« You won't be doing it alone

Two experienced sales leaders run this team, and both of them came up the same way you're about to. Their job is to make you good at this β€” not to watch you struggle and replace you in March.

🏒 The name helps more than you'd think

I can't put the company in the ad, but I can tell you this: when you say who you're calling from, people have heard of it. Millions of them. If you've ever cold called for a business nobody's heard of, you'll know exactly what that's worth.

Message me and I'll tell you who it is.

🌏 It doesn't stay in Sydney either

There's travel in this, and exposure to the US business as you get good. Not a dangled carrot β€” people have actually done it.

☝️ What you actually need

At least six months of phone-based sales. That's the one hard requirement, and it isn't negotiable. You've had the headset on, you've worked a list, you've been hung up on and rung the next one.

You do not need any industry experience. None. That part gets taught.

The rest:

  • You can talk to a stranger without dying inside
  • You're okay being bad at something for a few months while you learn a new product
  • A no on Tuesday doesn't ruin your Wednesday

πŸ™… Don't apply if

  • You've never actually picked up the phone in a job
  • You want to be great immediately
  • You think the phone is beneath you
  • You want a grad scheme where someone tells you what to do each morning

πŸ“ž What happens next

Message me one thing: something you got good at that you were rubbish at to begin with.

Sport, an instrument, a language, a game, a bad first job. Doesn't matter what.

That's the whole test. If you've done it once, you can do it again β€” and this job is exactly that, one more time.
