Position Title: Project Manager

Location: Deerfield, IL

Client: State of Illinois

Job Summary

We are looking for a results-driven Project Manager with 3-5 years of experience in managing IT projects. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Project Management methodologies, SDLC, risk management, and team leadership, along with hands-on experience using tools like JIRA, MS Project, Teams, Webex, and MS Office Suite. A PMP certification is required. This role demands excellent communication, problem-solving, and adaptability skills to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage IT projects from initiation through closure, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Develop and maintain project documents such as entrance criteria, project plans, and closing documents.
• Create project schedules, work breakdown structures, and resource allocations.
• Manage project budgets, risks, and change requests effectively.
• Conduct and facilitate project meetings, ensuring clear communication among stakeholders.
• Present project proposals, status updates, and final deliverables to stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Drive project success by coordinating across technical and non-technical teams.
• Apply problem-solving, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence to handle conflicts, pressure, and changes in dynamic environments.
• Ensure adherence to SDLC processes and organizational governance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in IT project management.
• Knowledge of Project Management Methodologies and PMP certification.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, risk management, and change management.
• Proficiency in JIRA, MS Project, Teams, Webex, and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong leadership, team management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to rapid IT industry changes and manage conflicts effectively.
• PMP certification is required; Agile/Scrum certification is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Skills

·        Knowledge of Cloud computing, Cybersecurity, IT Infrastructure, and DevOps concepts.

• Experience with budget management.
• Understanding of Higher Education scholarship & grant programs.
