New York City, NY (New York – Newark – Jersey City)

Role summary. Lead the electrical engineering design for high‑rise residential, commercial and institutional projects in New York City. Responsibilities include designing power‑distribution, lighting and fire‑alarm systems; producing 3‑D BIM models and construction documents in Revit; and performing load calculations and short‑circuit/coordination studies. New York has its own building and energy codes: mechanical work must comply with the NYC Mechanical Code, Building Code, Plumbing Code, Fuel Gas Code and the NYC Energy Conservation Code (NYCECC) . Engineers must stay current with NYCECC amendments—which are more stringent than the New York State energy code—and coordinate with agencies such as the Fire Department and the Department of Environmental Protection .

Qualifications.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and New York PE license.
• 6+ years of building‑design experience and proficiency with Revit and BIM coordination.
• Deep knowledge of NEC, NYC Construction Codes (Mechanical, Building, Plumbing and Fuel Gas) and NYCECC .
• Experience preparing energy code documentation and working with city agencies.
• Ability to manage projects and mentor younger engineers.
