Role summary. Lead the electrical engineering design for high‑rise residential, commercial and institutional projects in New York City. Responsibilities include designing power‑distribution, lighting and fire‑alarm systems; producing 3‑D BIM models and construction documents in Revit; and performing load calculations and short‑circuit/coordination studies. New York has its own building and energy codes: mechanical work must comply with the NYC Mechanical Code, Building Code, Plumbing Code, Fuel Gas Code and the NYC Energy Conservation Code (NYCECC) . Engineers must stay current with NYCECC amendments—which are more stringent than the New York State energy code—and coordinate with agencies such as the Fire Department and the Department of Environmental Protection .
