Job description:

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Electrical Test Technician to work in its manufacturing facility. The Employer designs and manufactures engine-driven industrial generators, chillers, and heat pumps. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of electrical, temperature, pressure, and mechanical testing on advanced energy products.


Position Summary

The Electrical Test Technician plays a critical role in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust test solutions for advanced electronics products. This is a highly hands-on position requiring the ability to perform electrical testing, non-destructive troubleshooting, environmental testing, and detailed reporting throughout the testing lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and operate test equipment including DMMs, power quality analyzers, oscilloscopes, and related tools
  • Perform multiple analyses concurrently while meeting deadlines
  • Ensure all tasks are completed safely, professionally, and on schedule
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams including Materials and Product Engineering
  • Establish and perform quality control inspection points for STX and DTX
  • Perform full electrical checkout on all products
  • Create, revise, and maintain production documentation, test procedures, and work instructions
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic issues involving wiring, harnesses, PC boards, and control systems
  • Read and interpret schematics, ladder diagrams, and wire run lists
  • Work with 3-phase, single-phase, and DC power circuits and control logic
  • Set up, assemble, test, and install control system electronic hardware
  • Record, analyze, extrapolate, and clearly communicate test data and results
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and quality within manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Support product test plans and methods in partnership with Product and Test Engineering teams
  • Participate in technical meetings and cross-functional reviews
  • Support process documentation updates, including implementation within a Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience as an Electrical Test Technician performing circuit analysis, troubleshooting, and repairs
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in final testing of industrial or heavy electrical equipment (power generation experience is a plus)
  • Associate’s degree in electronics technology or equivalent experience preferred
  • IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, and J-STD-001 training preferred
  • Strong experience using electrical test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with networking and Microsoft Office applications
  • Hands-on workshop experience including manufacturing, assembly, and prototyping
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and passionate about engineering and manufacturing
  • Mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of engines, generators, and compressors is a plus


Additional Job Details

  • Reports directly to the Production Supervisor
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Saturdays as required)
  • Pay Range: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour, based on experience
