Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Pay: $20–$30/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an outgoing, organized, and patient-focused Medical Office Receptionist / Medical Office Specialist to support a growing mental health practice operating across two suites. This role is the primary point of contact for patients and plays a key part in front-office operations, scheduling, insurance coordination, and clinical support workflows.
The practice consists of 1 Psychiatrist and 2 Physician Assistants, serving patients ages 13 and up, with a mix of cash-pay (approximately 50%) and insurance patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and manage front desk operations professionally and efficiently
- Schedule appointments and manage provider calendars
- Handle new patient intake, registration, and documentation
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
- Support both cash-pay and insurance billing workflows
- Communicate with pharmacies regarding prescriptions and refills
- Answer phones, return calls, and respond to patient inquiries
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within EMR systems
- Coordinate services related to TMS and Ketamine treatments
- Work closely with clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations
- EMR & Systems Experience
- AdvancedMD EMR experience required
- Experience with Epic strongly preferred
Qualification
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or medical office specialist
- Mental health office experience preferred but not required
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment
- Highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Professional, friendly, and outgoing demeanor
Additional Details
- No on-call responsibilities
- No weekend work
- Vacation time accrues up to 4 weeks, beginning after 3 weeks of employment
