Position Summary:
This critical role supports transportation and heavy equipment operations by maintaining and repairing diesel vehicles and machinery. The Diesel Mechanic ensures vehicle reliability, safety, and optimal performance through comprehensive diagnostic, maintenance, and repair services. This position requires advanced technical skills, mechanical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality equipment functionality across various vehicle types and systems.
Pay Range:
- A Mechanic Ranking: $43-47/hour
- B Mechanic Ranking: $35-43/hour
- C Mechanic Ranking: $29-35/hour
Signing Bonus:
- A Mechanic Ranking: $15,000 (Paid in $3,000 installments at 30, 90, 180, 270, and 365 days)
- B Mechanic Ranking: $10,000 (Paid in $2,000 installments at 30, 90, 180, 270, and 365 days)
- C Mechanic Ranking: $4,000 (Paid in two $2,000 installments at 90 and 180 days)

Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain safe and professional working environment
- Diagnose and perform preventative maintenance on heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment
- Remove, repair, rebuild, and replace vehicle assemblies and parts
- Perform electrical work including wiring systems and starter rebuilding
- Repair and adjust electrical sensors and computerized systems
- Diagnose fuel management, ignition systems, and engine timing
- Weld broken assemblies and parts
- Manage equipment, materials, and supplies
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Prepare work reports and records
- Learn and utilize diagnostic equipment
- Handle road service calls
Qualifications:
- 3+ years fleet/transportation maintenance experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems
- Ability to work independently
- Understanding of maintenance manuals and diagrams
- Experience with heavy-duty vehicle repair
- Knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA, DOT)
- Problem-solving and customer service skills
- CDL (A class) license preferred
- PA Inspection License A+ preferred
- Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Certification
- DOT brake adjustment certification
