Mobile Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to join our growing team in the Richmond, VA area. This is a field-based position where you'll travel to customer locations in a company-provided service truck to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on diesel-powered trucks and equipment.

Please Note: Interviews are taking place now, but the anticipated hiring/start date is August 17 due to the opening of a new service facility.


Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, drivetrains, and related mechanical systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service at customer locations
  • Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, air brake, fuel, and cooling systems
  • Complete engine, suspension, steering, brake, and drivetrain repairs
  • Utilize diagnostic software and scan tools to identify mechanical issues
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and repair records
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs and recommendations
  • Keep the company service truck organized, stocked, and in safe operating condition
  • Follow all company safety procedures and industry standards while working independently in the field


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of diesel technician experience preferred
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working on medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience using OEM diagnostic software and scan tools
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • CDL is a plus, but not required
  • Own tools preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills


Compensation & Benefits

  • $30.00 to $40.00 per hour, based on experience
