The Vice President of Asset Management (Operations - VPAM) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the efficient and profitable operation of a diverse multifamily property portfolio. This position serves as a critical link between executive leadership and regional management teams, ensuring optimal performance across all assets.


Compensation

  • Base Salary: $140,000 per year
  • Annual Performance Bonus: Up to $65,000

Schedule

  • Full-time, minimum 40 hours per week
  • Occasional evenings, weekends, and off-hours as needed
  • Travel: 25% in office/remote, up to 75% Travel required (visiting properties/assets)

Reporting Structure

Reports to:

  • Senior Vice President, Asset Management
  • Executive Leadership Team

Primary Responsibilities:

Financial Oversight

  • Review and approve expenses up to $15,000
  • Oversee revenue management and rent pricing strategies
  • Monitor delinquency levels and work with legal counsel on complex cases
  • Assist in annual budget preparation and ongoing financial analysis

Team Leadership

  • Directly manage Regional Managers across multiple markets
  • Provide mentorship, problem-solving support, and performance management
  • Serve as interim coverage during Regional Manager absences
  • Train new Regional Managers as needed

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure timely execution of lease renewals, rent collections, maintenance, and move-in processes
  • Lead weekly pricing strategy meetings with regional teams and third-party partners
  • Oversee ancillary revenue streams and leasing concessions
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate service contracts

Asset Performance

  • Conduct quarterly site inspections of properties
  • Develop and implement action plans for property improvements
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams on small to medium-sized renovation projects

Strategic Initiatives

  • Assist in developing and implementing new operational procedures
  • Participate in due diligence for potential acquisitions
  • Support the rollout of training initiatives and policy updates
  • Represent the company in interactions with local government entities

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in multifamily property management or asset management
  • Strong financial acumen and budgeting skills
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities
  • Proficiency with property management software and data analysis tools
  • Willingness to travel regularly for site visits and team meetings

Travel Requirements

  • Regular travel to properties within the portfolio (primarily regional, some national)
  • Occasional travel for acquisitions due diligence or industry events

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $145,000.00 - $205,000.00 per year
