Position Overview


We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead and oversee electrical construction activities on our client's industrial projects. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising field operations to ensure all work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.


The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong electrical background, excellent communication skills, and proven experience managing crews, subcontractors, and complex project execution in industrial environments.


Key Responsibilities


  • Supervise and coordinate all on-site electrical construction activities
  • Lead foremen, electricians, apprentices, and subcontractors
  • Review and interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Develop daily and weekly work plans, including labour and manpower allocation
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards
  • Track project progress and report updates or issues to project management
  • Coordinate with other trades, engineers, clients, and site supervisors
  • Support troubleshooting, installations, and field problem-solving
  • Enforce OHSA regulations, safety policies, and company procedures
  • Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards
  • Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and project documentation
  • Assist with material planning, procurement coordination, and equipment requirements
  • Promote a positive, productive, and safety-focused work environment


Qualifications


  • Red Seal Electrician certification or equivalent (preferred)
  • Minimum 5+ years of electrical construction experience
  • Previous supervisory or superintendent experience in industrial construction
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and installation methods
  • Familiarity with the Ontario Electrical Code and workplace safety regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation


Assets / Preferred Experience


  • Experience in industrial, commercial, or heavy construction environments
  • Background in project scheduling and labour planning
  • Strong troubleshooting and field coordination experience
  • Equipment certifications (forklift, lifts, etc.)
  • Knowledge of lockout/tagout and energized work practices
