About the Opportunity


Next Level Group is partnering with a well-established organization to hire a detail-oriented Accounting Technician to support day-to-day financial operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across accounting functions including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, while contributing to accurate and compliant financial processes.


The successful candidate will work closely with finance and operational teams to ensure records are accurate, deadlines are met, and systems run smoothly in a collaborative, professional environment.


Key Responsibilities


Accounting & Financial Support

  • Assist with general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Prepare payroll, purchasing, and expense reports
  • Support budgeting and cost tracking initiatives
  • Provide backup support across the finance function as required


Payroll

  • Process weekly payroll in accordance with federal and provincial legislation
  • Maintain payroll records, deductions, and benefits information
  • Assist with year-end activities including T4 preparation and audits
  • Respond to payroll inquiries with discretion and professionalism


Purchasing & Accounts Payable

  • Create and process purchase orders
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation
  • Accurately code and enter invoices
  • Communicate with vendors and resolve discrepancies
  • Support payment processing and maintain vendor records


Accounts Receivable

  • Prepare and issue customer invoices
  • Apply payments and reconcile customer accounts
  • Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue balances
  • Collaborate with operations and project teams to ensure timely billing


Qualifications & Experience


  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience working in a professional accounting or finance environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with accounting software and business systems
  • Currently working toward a CPA designation is considered an asset
  • Experience in the construction industry is an asset
