Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot major and minor mechanical problems.
- Perform inspections and routine maintenance.
- Repair and adjust mechanical components as well as ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
- Work with late model power units (2017 and newer).
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems including chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, steering and fuel, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Inspect motors in operation, perform road tests, or use computerized diagnostic devices to diagnose and isolate faults and determine whether to repair or replace components.
- Performing such duties on equipment such as oil changes, alignments, tune up, tire changes, daily logs.
- Performing incidental welding operations and body work.
Requirements:
- Truck & Transport Mechanic License/Red Seal Certification or apprentice.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
- 2-5 years' experience in a Mechanic role is required.
- Communication skills both verbal and in writing.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- 40 hrs weekly with the occasional over time
