A well-established agricultural and heavy equipment dealership in New Brunswick is seeking a Service Manager to lead the operations of its service department. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and team-oriented leader who enjoys building strong customer relationships while driving operational efficiency and team performance.


The Service Manager will provide strategic direction and day-to-day leadership for the service department. This individual will play a key role in ensuring high levels of productivity, service quality, and customer satisfaction while supporting overall business objectives.


Key Responsibilities


  • Oversee daily operations and scheduling of the service department, providing clear direction to shop and field technicians.
  • Ensure timely completion of maintenance and repair work in the shop.
  • Provide accurate estimates for service jobs and manage repair timelines for customer and internal equipment.
  • Coordinate equipment pickups, deliveries, and service scheduling.
  • Review and finalize work orders for accurate customer billing.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage service department staff, including performance management.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet service demand.
  • Foster a positive team environment and maintain strong employee morale.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with customers, staff, and other departments.
  • Coordinate training opportunities for technicians and service staff.
  • Manage departmental expenses and work within established budgets.
  • Occasional overtime may be required to support operational needs.


Qualifications


  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in a technical or service-based environment.
  • Strong leadership and operational management skills.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude with knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair processes.
  • Ability to identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, employees, and suppliers.
  • Comfortable performing basic calculations and working with service estimates and job costing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post-secondary education in business administration, mechanical studies, or a related field is considered an asset.
