About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading construction company in Atlantic Canada, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health and Safety Coordinator to join their team in Charlottetown. This is a key role responsible for promoting a safety-first culture and ensuring compliance across all worksites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain workplace health and safety programs.
- Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate incident investigations and ensure proper reporting and follow-up.
- Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training to employees.
- Ensure compliance with provincial occupational health and safety regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
- Track and analyze safety metrics, trends, and corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline.
- 1–3 years of experience in a safety role, preferably in construction or a related industry.
- Knowledge of OH&S legislation and safety management systems.
- Strong communication, training, and documentation skills.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to job sites as required.
- Safety certifications such as COR, WHMIS, First Aid, or equivalent considered an asset.
