The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Generalist / HR Manager to lead and manage all human resources functions.
This is a standalone HR role offering the opportunity to build, shape, and lead HR practices within a dynamic, hands-on environment. Reporting directly to ownership, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations while helping guide people strategy as the company continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the sole HR resource for a workforce of approximately 40 + employees.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment across field and office roles.
- Support employee relations, performance management, and workplace investigations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with employment standards, health & safety, and applicable legislation.
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning, retention, and organizational development.
- Oversee onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes.
- Support payroll and benefits administration in collaboration with internal/external partners.
- Provide guidance and coaching to supervisors on HR-related matters.
- Maintain accurate HR records, reporting, and documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a standalone or senior-level role.
- Experience in construction, trades, or other blue-collar environments is considered a strong asset.
- Solid understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
- Experience handling sensitive employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related field; CPHR designation is an asset.
