About the Opportunity
A well-established heavy equipment organization is seeking a motivated and driven Territory Sales Representative to join its growing team in Nova Scotia. This is an exciting opportunity for a relationship-focused sales professional who enjoys working independently, developing new business, and managing a well-established territory.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Sales Representative will be responsible for promoting and selling heavy equipment solutions throughout Nova Scotia while building strong, long-term customer relationships across the industry.
This role is territory-focused, and candidates may reside anywhere within Nova Scotia, provided they are comfortable with regular travel throughout the province.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an established sales territory across Nova Scotia
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers while actively developing new business opportunities
- Prospect and generate leads through phone calls, email outreach, networking, and face-to-face meetings
- Identify customer needs and recommend equipment solutions that align with their operations
- Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, and close sales opportunities
- Build and maintain long-term partnerships with customers and industry contacts
- Stay current on product knowledge, market trends, and competitor activity
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer functions
- Collaborate closely with internal departments including service, parts, and accounting
- Support collection activities and maintain healthy customer accounts when required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous sales experience within construction, heavy equipment, industrial, agriculture, transportation, or related industries considered a strong asset
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, ambitious, and results-driven personality
- Proven negotiation and customer service abilities
- Comfortable working independently and managing a territory
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract
- Ability to travel extensively throughout Nova Scotia (approximately 75% travel)
- Ability to adapt within a fast-paced, changing environment
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered a strong asset
