About the Opportunity


Our client, a well-established and growing construction company in PEI, NS and NB, is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join their team. This position supports both commercial construction and development projects, playing an integral role from estimating and pre-construction through project completion.

Key Responsibilities


Project Coordination

  • Coordinate projects from pre-construction through completion.
  • Prepare, submit, track, and maintain project documentation and submittals.
  • Issue purchase orders to suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate procurement and delivery of long lead-time materials.
  • Review shop drawings and maintain document control.
  • Schedule subcontractors and assist with site coordination.
  • Participate in project and site meetings as required.
  • Monitor project schedules and assist with budget tracking.
  • Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and ensure timely communication.
  • Coordinate product and material submissions with clients, consultants, and project teams.
  • Provide ongoing administrative and coordination support to Project Managers.


Estimating

  • Prepare estimates for commercial and development construction projects.
  • Complete quantity take-offs and obtain supplier quotations.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor pricing.
  • Coordinate tender invitations and submissions.
  • Assist with bid preparation and tender follow-up.
  • Conduct site visits to gather project information.
  • Prepare and price change orders.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to develop competitive project bids.
  • Review and recommend suppliers and subcontractors based on pricing and project requirements.


Qualifications


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience reading construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and construction management software.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Experience in project coordination, estimating, construction administration, or project management is considered a strong asset.
  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.
