Job Summary:

As Foreman, you will lead field crews in the installation, servicing, and repair of HVAC systems, ductwork, and mechanical equipment. You’ll ensure projects are completed safely, on time, on budget, and to quality standards. This role combines hands-on work, team leadership, and project coordination within a dynamic trade environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

• Supervise, coach, and mentor HVAC technicians, journeymen, apprentices, and helpers.
• Assign daily tasks and monitor progress to meet project timelines.
• Promote teamwork, professionalism, and high workmanship standards.

Project Coordination

• Interpret blueprints, job plans, and technical specifications for field crews.
• Schedule materials, tools, and manpower to meet project needs.
• Communicate daily progress and issues to office/project managers.

On-Site Oversight

• Ensure installations and repairs are performed according to specifications and building codes.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and jobsite cleanliness.
• Conduct pre-job planning and coordinate subcontractors as needed.

Safety Compliance

• Enforce safety protocols, hold toolbox talks, and make sure PPE is used properly.
• Identify and address hazards immediately.
• Report and document safety incidents or near misses.

Quality Assurance & Reporting

• Inspect completed work for compliance with quality standards.
• Resolve technical issues and make field decisions as needed.
• Document work completed, materials used, and any changes to scope.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience in HVAC, sheet metal, mechanical installation, or a related trade (often 5+ years).
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Leadership experience with the ability to supervise crews effectively.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Commitment to safety and best practices on the jobsite.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.

Preferred Certifications (if applicable):

• Journeyperson status in Sheet Metal, HVAC, Refrigeration, or a related Red Seal trade.
• Occupational Health & Safety certification.
• First Aid / WHMIS or equivalent.
