Service Shift Manager

In this role you will manage, coordinate, and direct the workload of the Service Department for maximum efficiency and productivity with commitment to delivering exceptional service to our customers. You will help deliver quality work in a friendly and collaborative environment that encourages learning and growth.

 

Responsibilities


  • Assign/schedule all service department jobs for technicians based on their skills/knowledge
  • Motivate, inspire, and assist new and existing employees in their pursuit of excellence through coaching, training, and development
  • Optimize shop efficiency and flow to avoid lost billable hours
  • Ensure effective communication and follow up with customers and employees
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and training opportunities
  • Provide back up support for Service Business Manager in their absence and during peak seasons
  • Direct/assist employees in diagnosis/troubleshooting of machine problems
  • Perform final checks/approvals on equipment before start of work order
  • Provide exceptional customer service consistently above standards
  • Assist service support staff in quoting repairs and maintaining accurate records
  • Build effective and productive team dynamics with all internal departments
  • Conduct safety meetings, encourage safe working habits

 

Requirements


  • Ability to operate vehicles/equipment used for diagnostic purposes
  • 5+ years performing complex service repairs/maintenance
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs repeatedly; 40-75 lbs on occasion.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, varying shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of ag/turf equipment
  • Ability to use current business systems, working knowledge of computer functions and use.
