About the Opportunity
A leading North American manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Maintenance, Reliability & Engineering Manager to oversee maintenance and engineering operations at its facility in the Greater Muskegon/Manistee area. This position is ideal for a hands-on, results-driven leader who excels at developing teams, optimizing plant reliability, and managing complex technical projects. You’ll play a key leadership role in maintaining plant performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across maintenance and engineering functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all maintenance, reliability, and engineering operations to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable plant performance.
- Lead, coach, and mentor maintenance and engineering teams to promote professional growth and accountability.
- Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring adherence to safety programs, risk assessments, and compliance initiatives.
- Plan and execute capital and improvement projects, including cost estimation, approval, installation, and commissioning.
- Support production teams with technical expertise to maximize equipment uptime and process efficiency.
- Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Troubleshoot major equipment breakdowns and provide technical guidance for maintenance planning and execution.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and food safety standards where applicable.
- Collaborate across departments to promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proven success in managing maintenance, reliability, or engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance systems, reliability engineering, and capital project management.
- Experience with SAP, AutoCAD, and CMMS tools is an asset.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with a focus on safety, collaboration, and results.
