About the Role
The Compact Equipment Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of compact construction equipment, including loaders, excavators, and tractors. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset. The successful candidate will work efficiently while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain compact construction equipment
- Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify faults and complete repairs accurately
- Complete preventative maintenance and inspections
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding equipment issues and repairs
- Maintain accurate service documentation and repair records
- Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and manufacturer guidelines
- Work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced service environment
- Stay current with evolving equipment technology through ongoing training
Qualifications & Skills
- Certification from a recognized technical school or equivalent experience
- Canadian Red Seal in Heavy Duty Equipment (preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience using diagnostic tools and service equipment
- Commitment to workplace safety and willingness to learn new technologies
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented
