Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Systems Engineer with expertise in Genetec physical security systems and HPC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of advanced security solutions, ensuring the highest level of system performance and reliability. This role requires a deep understanding of Genetec Security Center, as well as experience with access control, video surveillance, and other physical security technologies.


This role will be onsite and must be based in Austin, TX (relocation assistance available).


Job Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy Genetec Security Center solutions, including video surveillance, access control, and license plate recognition systems.
  • Develop and implement security system architectures and configurations to meet client requirements.
  • Integrate Genetec systems with third-party hardware and software to enhance overall security functionality.
  • Provide expert-level technical support for Genetec physical security systems, troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.
  • Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Conduct system health checks and audits, identifying and addressing potential vulnerabilities.
  • Lead and manage security system projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare project documentation, including system designs, configuration guides, and user manuals.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers and technical staff on Genetec systems and best practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and Genetec product updates, sharing knowledge with the team.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Conduct site assessments and provide recommendations for security improvements.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on physical security matters


Required Skills & Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in Genetec Security Center and physical security systems are highly desirable.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting Genetec physical security systems.
  • Proven experience with access control, video surveillance, and other physical security technologies.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading security system projects.

Technical Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of Genetec Security Center, including configuration, troubleshooting, and integration.
  • Proficiency in network design, configuration, and troubleshooting as it relates to physical security systems.
  • Familiarity with third-party security hardware and software, such as cameras, access control devices, and analytics tools.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Certifications:

  • Genetec Certified: Security Center Omnicast, Synergis, and AutoVu.
  • Additional certifications in physical security or related technologies are a plus.
