System Administrator – Godley, TX
A growing organization in the energy sector is seeking a hands-on System Administrator to support and maintain its IT infrastructure in Godley, Texas. This role offers the opportunity to manage a wide range of technologies across servers, networks, and cloud-based platforms, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and long-term system reliability.
Key Responsibilities

Install and configure servers, applications, and network hardware to support operational and business systems.

Monitor and maintain system health, identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks or issues before they escalate.

Enforce security policies, including firewall configuration, access controls, and regular system patching.

Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions across systems to ensure appropriate access and compliance.

Troubleshoot hardware and software problems quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.

Maintain up-to-date systems, applying patches and software upgrades across infrastructure.

Document configurations and procedures, including step-by-step recovery and troubleshooting guides.

Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to protect critical data and ensure business continuity.

Administer local and wide area networks, including routers, switches, and VPN appliances.

Support cloud-based platforms and infrastructure (as applicable), ensuring secure and optimized usage.

Collaborate with IT leadership and vendors on technology upgrades and new system deployments.

Stay current on trends in system administration, cybersecurity, and enterprise infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline — or equivalent work experience.
- Experience supporting and administering Windows and/or Linux server environments.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose system-level issues.
- Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Comfortable working independently and in a collaborative setting.
- Prior experience supporting users or infrastructure in an industrial or operational environment is a bonus.
