Product Designer – Network & Communications


Location: preferably Austin, TX; however, can be 100% remote for the right candidate


Position Overview:

Seeking a Product Designer with a focus on network and communications solutions to lead the design and development of CommCube additions and build out new network and communications products. This role involves working closely with hardware and software teams, collaborating with manufacturers, and ensuring the right technical specifications for product design and development. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between concept, design, and production, ensuring products meet technical, functional, and market requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of CommCube additions and new network/communications products from concept to production.
  • Work closely with hardware and software engineers to design solutions that integrate seamlessly across platforms.
  • Own the relationship with manufacturers, ensuring products are built to the right specifications and meet performance, cost, and quality standards.
  • Develop and refine product specifications, prototypes, and design documentation for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate on hardware selection, integration, and validation, ensuring seamless alignment with product goals.
  • Work with manufacturers on materials, design iterations, and production planning to deliver high-quality products at scale.
  • Ensure products align with networking, communications, and infrastructure standards, incorporating industry best practices.
  • Support testing, validation, and iterative improvements throughout the product lifecycle.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in product design and development, particularly in network and communications hardware/software solutions.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with engineers, manufacturers, and product teams to develop scalable and manufacturable solutions.
  • Understanding of hardware selection, prototyping, and production processes in a network infrastructure or communications technology environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to bridge the gap between technical requirements and user needs.


Strong communication skills to manage external manufacturing relationships and align stakeholders across engineering and product teams.
