Job Overview:
A leading technology company, founded in 1990, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their innovative team on a full-time basis. This company specializes in creating custom test and measurement systems for various industries, including aerospace, defense, RF, energy, and biomedical sectors. The ideal candidate will be adept at evaluating customer requirements and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design advanced electrical and electro-mechanical systems, including test circuitry, hardware system architecture, instrumentation racks, box/cable assemblies, and printed circuit board assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prototype, design, and document electrical and electro-mechanical systems using electrical CAD software.
- Evaluate and select test measurement hardware.
- Analyze signal integrity and design conditioning systems.
- Support the production of designed parts and systems.
- Ensure deliverables meet timelines, budgets, and customer quality requirements.
- Assist in job proposal activities, including material and labor estimations.
- Drive continuous improvement activities for tools and processes.
- Manage hardware configurations using a revision control system.
- Mentor and guide less experienced design engineers.
Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of experience in a fast-paced design environment developing electrical test systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, with a focus on test and measurement system hardware design.
- Expertise with Electrical CAD tools such as Altium, AutoCAD, SkyCAD, Solidworks Electrical.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Experience with simulation software such as Simulink and Matlab is a plus.
- Knowledge of RF measurement and industrial controls is advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with an innovative and resourceful mindset.
- Experience with test software development in LabVIEW (desktop, RT, FPGA), TestStand, C/C++, Python is desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be a US citizen or permanent legal resident, eligible for export-controlled work.
- Experience with DOD, government, and aerospace contracts is a plus.
