A leading Fortune 100 multinational enterprise seeking an experienced Senior Wireless Network Engineer to take ownership of the WiFi network for our dynamic Austin, Texas campus. Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will be the subject matter expert responsible for the entire WiFi network infrastructure at our Austin campus. You'll lead a dedicated team of network engineers, guiding and mentoring them to ensure exceptional network support. Your expertise will drive the design, implementation, operation, and enhancement of our wireless network, enabling seamless connectivity and a superior end user experience. Additionally, you'll contribute to extending our WiFi capabilities as the campus expands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead a greenfield wireless project using cutting-edge Cisco technology.
- Design and implement wireless solutions to ensure comprehensive coverage across office and manufacturing facilities.
- Collaborate on projects to meet evolving internal customer requirements, while maintaining network stability, scalability, and reliability.
- Provide specialized support for teams requiring Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) infrastructure.
- Mentor and empower a team of network engineers to deliver outstanding network solutions.
- Take full ownership of the WiFi network, from planning and documentation to operation and support.
- Participate in the expansion of the Wireless Network as the campus grows, optimizing wireless experiences in challenging manufacturing environments.
- Offer 24/7 support,responding to and resolving escalation tickets within SLA.
- Adhere rigorously to standard operating procedures, configurations, checklists, and corporate security protocols.
- Create management reports and regular updates on network performance.
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of the wireless network architecture.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required
- 10+ years of experience in designing and supporting large-scale enterprise networks
- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in wireless design, implementation, configuration, and support
- Expertise in Cisco Prime, MSE Location Engine, DNA-Center, and CMX
- Proficiency in Inter-Controller Mobility between Aire-OS and Embedded Wireless Controllers
- Deep understanding of ISE Authentication and Authorization Policies
- Strong background in data network design, implementation, and troubleshooting, encompassing both wired and wireless domains
- Exceptional knowledge of 802.11 wireless standards and protocols
- Proficiency in switch configuration, routing, IPv4 subnetting, Cisco IOS, DNS, SNMP, and DHCP
- Collaborative team player with a dedication to mentoring and documentation
- Proven track record of meeting project deadlines and responsibilities
- CCNP Wireless certification or equivalent is a bonus
- Experience with Netscout or Ekahau Wireless planning tools- preferred
- Previous involvement in migrations to Wi-Fi 6 infrastructure is a huge bonus
